After School Events for
Tweens and Teens

Buchanan County Conservation and the Independence Public Library are teaming up to offer a series of after-school events for local tweens and teens.  Programs will take place on Wednesdays in the Community Room of the Independence Public Library and will be led by Jennifer Webster, a  Buchanan County Conservation Naturalist.  For more information contact Jennifer at Fontana Park (319) 636-2617.



Go Fly a Kite
Feb. 3 @ 3:30 pm

Jennifer Webster, Buchanan County Conservation Naturalist, will be at the library to help teens create a one-of-a-kind recycled kite and take it out for a spin.  This free program will be held in the Library's Community Room. 

Scatology
Feb. 10 at 1:30 pm
at 3:30 pm because of change in school schedule
Jennifer Webster, Buchanan County Conservation Naturalist, will be at the library to help teens make replica animal scat using candy.  You get to eat the candy!  This free program will be held in the Library's Community Room. 


Treasure Hunt in a Bottle
Feb. 17 @ 3:30 pm
Jennifer Webster, Buchanan County Conservation Naturalist, will be at the library for a hands-on teen program.  Those attending the free event will create a unique treasure hunt in a bottle with natural materials
