We have many exciting programs this summer!  All of the programs will be free and held at the Community Room in the Independence Public Library.  For more information see our program information sheet.

Information

“Be Creative @ Your Library” is being offered to area youth this summer at the Independence Public Library. The summer library program encourages reading for pleasure and provides constructive activities during the summer break.

To add to the fun and create a sense of challenge to keep the kids reading, we offer incentives and prizes during the program. The goal is to read for 20 minutes or more each day.  Registration for the program begins on June 1st at the library.  Library Loot will be given when children meet periodic reading goals.  Children will be able to spend their money on great prizes which are currently on display at the Creation Station.

Local businesses and individuals have generously donated prizes and incentives to give to each participant for their reading efforts.
