The Independence Public Library is excited to present free movies in the park during the summer at the River Walk Park Band Pavilion.  We have a wonderful line-up of movies for your enjoyment this summer.

Make plans to attend Riverside Cinema this summer.  The 5000 lumens DLP projector lights up the 10’ x 13’ screen and the powerful Peavey speaker system completes the incredible presentation.  The May, June, and August movies start at 8:30 pm and the July event begins at 7:30 pm at the band pavilion in the River Walk Park.  Each movie is free and open to the public.  The sponsors of each movie make it possible to pay for the public performance fees necessary for showing each movie.

The July event comes with a special twist!  For those of you who attended George Drouillard during the Lewis and Clark Iowa History Alive series, you saw an absolutely incredible presentation done by Darrel Draper.  Draper will return to Independence in July for his debut of Theodore Roosevelt!  He will perform at 7:30 pm, and the corresponding movie will begin at 8:30 pm.

Bring blankets or chairs, find a spot in the park, and settle in for a movie!  If you get the munchies, the Friends of the Library sell popcorn and pop at each of the events.

See you at the park!
