Carol Gorman is the author of 40 books for readers from first grade to adult.  Her children's titles include GamesStumptown Kid, and Dork in Disguise, winner of five state reading lists: Oklahoma, Missouri, Washington, South Carolina, and West Virginia.

Briggs Martin

Jacquelyn Briggs Martin reads Banjo Granny as part of her presentation.
 


Jacqueline Briggs Martin, of Mount Vernon, Iowa, has published 16 books for children. Her picture book biography of a self taught scientist, Snowflake Bentley, illustrated by Mary Azarian, was awarded the 1999 Caldecott medal by the American Library Association.

 

 

 


Anne
Ylvisaker


Anne Ylvisaker talked about her novels and especially about Little Klein.

 

 


In 2008, Anne Ylvisaker was named Iowa's Emerging Author. Her novel Little Klein was selected for the Midwest Bookseller's Choice Award and was the winner of the McKnight Award in Children's Literature.
