Carol Gorman is the author of 40 books for readers from first grade to
adult. Her children's titles include Games, Stumptown Kid,
and Dork in Disguise,
winner of five state reading lists: Oklahoma,
Missouri, Washington, South Carolina, and West Virginia.
Jacqueline Briggs Martin, of Mount Vernon,
Iowa, has published 16 books for children. Her picture book
biography of a self taught scientist, Snowflake Bentley,
illustrated by Mary Azarian, was awarded the 1999 Caldecott medal by the
American Library Association.

In 2008, Anne Ylvisaker was named Iowa's Emerging Author. Her novel
Little Klein was selected for the Midwest Bookseller's Choice Award
and was the winner of the McKnight Award in Children's Literature.
