Bill Signs, pilot, world record holder, and man behind many “Friendship Flights,” gave a presentation at the Independence Public Library in conjunction with Independence's FlyIowa event on July 11th.  Signs showed pictures and talked about many of his Friendship Flights.  He focused on Friendship Flight '97, during which he retraced Charles A. Lindbergh’s famous flight from New York to Paris, the first solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean.  This commemorative flight was done 70 years after Lindbergh’s flight, to the minute, beginning on May 20, 1997 at 7:52 am.
