Meet the Waterloo Black Hawks at the Independence Public Library on Monday, March 15.  You have the opportunity to meet several of the players and the Community Relations Director, Tim Harwood, beginning at 6:30 pm.  The event will be fun for people of all ages.

The Waterloo Black Hawks will bring some of their hockey equipment, like hockey sticks, skates, and pads, to show.  There will be a fun trivia contest with the trivia teams including a mix of players and audience members.   Also, bring your questions for the question and answer segment.  There will be a time at the end of the event for autographs.

The Waterloo Black Hawks are part of the United States Hockey League, a Tier 1 Junior Hockey League.   The players come from a variety of Midwestern states and from more distant states like California, Massachussets, and New Jersey.  There are also several players from other countries like Sweden and Austria.  The team, with head coach P.K. O’Handley, has won seven of the eight games they have played so far in February.  More information about the Waterloo Black Hawks can be found at their website: www.waterlooblackhawks.com
