Going on a Road Trip?
July 2004 Article

Going on a road trip?  Commute to work every day?  Want something to occupy your mind while exercising or working on chores?  The Independence Public Library has just the answer for you -  books on tape or CD!  Adult fiction, mystery, science fiction, western, and non-fiction; young adult books, children’s chapter books, and children’s picture books!  We have a selection of all types, some of which are on audiocassette and others on CD.  As we purchase more audio books, most of them will be purchased in the CD format, since that is the direction the technology is headed.

In the next section, I have highlighted a few of our audio books.  I’ve added annotations to the adult fiction and non-fiction titles, but (for the sake of space) just listed titles and authors of our young adult and children’s offerings.  We have many more audio books than the titles listed below.  Feel free to search our Internet catalog by going to www.indylibrary.org and clicking on Web Catalog.  If you are interested only in audiotapes, change the first search parameter to Call Number and type in AC.  Click on the bullet in front of and in between the first two lines. Then change the second search parameter to subject, author, or title, and type in what you are looking for.  You can do the same with CDs by typing in CD in the first search box (make sure it is changed to call number).  Feel free to call us (334-2470) or come in if you have questions about this process.  You can also search our catalog at the library, ask for our help, or browse our collection.
