Your Library Connection

Mark your Calendar!

The library has much in store for your summer!  This includes musician and artist Bonnie Koloc presenting “The Bestiary” in late May; the summer reading program, Paws, Claws, Scales, and Tales; a movie in the park each month for Riverside Cinema; and restored Thursday hours. We hope to provide education, enrichment, and entertainment for you, your family, and your friends this summer.

Thursday afternoon and evening hours will be restored beginning on May 18th!  We ask for your patience in the library’s effort to restore Thursday hours.  The entire library board and staff are working hard to try to provide all that we can for the community.  Please be patient with us if you have to wait longer for help or if we aren’t able to offer some of the opportunities we normally do.

Summer Library Reading Program
Paws, Claws, Scales and Tales is designed to encourage your child (baby through age 12) to read (or have somebody read to them).  Kids will learn, keep their reading skills over the summer, have fun, and earn Critter Cash!  All Wednesday morning programs are at the VFW Building and start at 9:30 am.  You may register at the Independence Public Library.  Anyone can come to the Wednesday morning programs regardless of whether or not they have registered for the summer reading program.
