Buck: Ambassador of Wolves

Tuesday, June 27th at 7:00 pm
VFW Building

Ken DeNault, geology professor at UNI, and Buck, Ambassador of Wolves, will be at the VFW Building for a library presentation on Tuesday, June 27th at 7:00 pm.

Buck is a timber wolf who was abused before he was under DeNault's care.  From a wolf who was chained, beaten, and grossly underweight to a powerful, regal, and beautiful animal, Buck will inspire you.  Both as an ambassador for wolves and as a nurturing friend to abused children, he is impressive.

DeNault and Buck have traveled around the country to speak to groups.  One group wrote in their thanks, "I will never forget the sight of grown adult business people standing in line waiting to pet and talk to Buck.  All the while Buck stood there regally holding court over those humans who were so awe struck by him."  They have given talks to over 170,000 children.  The highlight is often when Buck sings.  The teachers in the Cedar Falls Community School District nominated Buck for an award "for the person, not employed by the school district, who has contributed the most to the education of students in Cedar Falls."

DeNault will talk about wolves and the importance that they grow up in the wild with room to roam and that they be respected but not feared.  He will talk about Buck's connection with abused children and how he has given hope to so many.     Come to this free event to see, hear, and touch this powerful, yet gentle, giant.  The event will be held at the VFW Building in Independence at 7 pm on Tuesday, June 27th.
